Plex is basically a client-server media player system and software suite that can be used for comprising two main components. It runs on different operating system such as Windows, mac OS and Linux-compatibles including some types of NAS devices. In addition, some official clients are also available for mobile devices, smart TVs, and streaming boxes, a web app and Plex Home Theater that has not been maintained for longer time. The desktop application “server” organizes video, audio and photos from your collections. It can also be organized from online services which can be used to enable the players to access and stream the contents whatever they want to watch. It can also add some additional functionality via the app store and Plex Inc which offers a premium service Plex Pass with features such as synchronization with mobile devices, cloud storage integration, meta data and matchings for music. It also supports multiple users, parental controls, Live TV and DVR, trailers and extras and cross-selling offers.
